We appreciate your interest in becoming a member of the Brickell Bar Association. For eligible individuals, membership offers myriad opportunities for professional enrichment, along with all of the resources and services necessary for the career advancement of attorneys, judges and law students.
Eligibility
The eligibility requirements to become a member of the Brickell Bar Association vary depending on the type of membership you are seeking.
Private attorney: An actively practicing attorney who is in good standing with The Florida Bar.
Government: Eligible individuals include currently sworn Assistant State Attorneys, Assistant Public Defenders and Assistant Criminal Conflict and Civil Regional Counsel.
Judges: Elected or appointed members of the Florida judicial system, including Supreme Court justices, district court judges, attorneys serving as justices of the peace, attorneys serving as city judges, and trial, appellate and bankruptcy judges residing in Florida.
Law Students: A student who is enrolled and currently attending law school, or a graduate of law school actively seeking admission to The Florida Bar.
Annual Membership Fees
The annual fee is based on the specific type of Brickell Bar Association membership – law student, attorney or judge – as well as the individual’s years of experience.
- Private Attorneys with Over Two Years of Practice: $200 annual membership fee
- Private Attorneys with Less Than Two Years of Practice: $100 annual membership fee
- Judges and Government/Public Interest Attorneys: $50 annual membership fee
- Law Students: $50 annual membership fee
- Law Students Participating in the Mentorship Program: $75 annual membership fee
Membership dues must be paid each year. If payment is not received by MONTH AND DAY, late fees will be imposed. Failure to pay by MONTH AND DAY will result in termination of membership. We are able to grant hardship requests on a case-by-case basis.
